There are some yet unsolved mysteries in the lives of Paul Handy
and Anna Sherman.
What is known is that both Paul and Anna were both born in southeast
Massachusetts, he in 1737 and she in 1939.
His parents were John Handy and Barbery
and her parents were Jacob Sherman and Margaret Faunce.
We know that they were married in Middleboro in 1762.
He was from Uxbridge and they raised 7 children there.
We know that he served in the Revolutionary War
and then around 1785 they moved the entire family to Cheshire County, New Hampshire
and lived in or near Richmond.
Cheshire County is the southwestern most county in New Hampshire
where the county seat is Keene.
They were among the first settler in Richmond which was a forestry area
of the time with several saw mills in and around the town.
I have found no record of them beyond that point in time.
When and where they died is not known.
