Mary Catherine
Family Group
Mary Catherine's mother had purchase land in the southern most
tier of sections in Liberty Township of Hardin County, Ohio.
Her mother's step-brother, Wilson McAdams, had land in the
adjacent section to the west. In the section
just east of her mother's property was the Ansley family. The
Ansley family had come from Kentucky and they had a son named
William. Mary Catherine married William Ansley on April 17, 1848.
William was several years older than Mary Catherine and was born
in Fleming County, Kentucky on February 9, 1811. William and Mary
Catherine remained in Liberty Township the rest of their lives
and they raised 8 Children: Emily (born 1848), Leah (born 1850),
Kathrin (born 1852), Caroline (born 1854), George W. (born 1856),
Emma L. (born 1858), James (born 1863), and Ella (born 1869).
Both William and Mary Catherine are buried in Woodlawn Cemetery
in Liberty Township. William died on August 23, 1885 and as often
happens with spouses, Mary Catherine died 2 months later on
October 22, 1885.g
