Tuscan Sunset Quilt |
I was attracted to this quilt because it was different than the typical blocks
set in a grid. Plus, it was fall colors, which are my favorite. The pattern, in
Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting, Summer 2011, also used some unique
techniques that I was interested in trying.
The long green strips horizontally and vertically in the center of the quilt are raw edge. It was an interesting technique. I hand-quilted scrolls amongst the green lines, and around the diamonds on the left. I hand-quilted maple and elm leaves in the smaller sections of the quilt and in the border. |
