Think Pink Quilts

When my friend in Calgary was diagnosed with breast cancer, and taking chemotherapy treatments, I knew I had to make her a quilt. About the same time, a friend of my sister's had her cancer return and was again taking chemotherapy, and my sister wanted me to make her friend a quilt.

After searching online for fabric for these two quilts, I found that Windham Fabrics had some blocks with encouraging sayings called Think Pink. I envisioned spreading these blocks around the quilt surrounded by various pink fabrics.

The top quilt was given to my friend in Calgary.

The bottom quilt was given to my sister's friend. In the light pink large blocks, I sewed the words "Hope" and "Love".

The fabric for the back of both quilts has little pink ribbons used for breast cancer awareness. The quilt was machine-pieced and machine-quilted by Nancy E. Miller.
