Rhythm and Blues Quilt

This quilt was made in the Mystery Quilt Class at Mississippi Quilt Association June Gathering in 2010 taught by Jere’ Funk. Since we did not know what we were making, the instructor gave us suggestions for fabrics. She suggested blues and greens, so I found fabric in my stash to use so I did not have to buy any fabric for this project. The block (with the yellow in the center background) is actually made of four smaller blocks, so as we were making the smaller blocks, we still could not realize what the finished block would look like. This only prolonged the time at which we could finally see what the quilt was going to look like!! I started handquilting this in June 2012 since I had several quilts needing to be quilted. My niece Tara Campbell married in November 2012 so I decided to finish it for her and her husband Jacob Allen. I bound it with the backing fabric folded to the front.
