Quilting Friends Quilt |
This quilt is composed of panels of quotes and sayings about quilting friends. I won the panels
in a drawing at Scrapper’s Quilt Guild and they laid in the closet for 2-3 years until I could
figure out what to do with them!
Then I saw several quilt made from panels and decided to make a quilt with them for my dear quilting friend, Brenda Nell Oliver, who lives in Weir, Mississippi. I found that she likes fall colors, browns, greens, as do I so I framed each panel with brown and arranged them on a green background. Then found a nice border print to border the quilt with and use on the back. I had to arrange the panels on the design wall and calculate how big a background piece to sew together; quite a puzzle! I machine-quilted in the ditch around each panel, then stippled around each panel to set them off. The stippling really looks nice around the panels. I hand-delivered it to Nell when I went to the Grand Oak Retreat in Scottsboro, Alabama, in May 2014. |
