Adam's Graduation Quilt |
Adam's Graduation Quilt was made for my nephew upon his graduation
from Northwest Missouri State University on 17 December 2010. He
double-majored in Geography and Spanish so the two sides of the
quilt were designed to represent these two areas of study.
The front of the quilt has fabrics in browns, greens, and golds,
to represent an aerial view of the earth for the Geography major.
The back of the quilt has fabrics of gold and red, and has Spanish phrases in the borders for the Spanish major. The four phrases, in English, are: Congratulations Graduate You have opened the door Good Luck Outstanding Achievement The design of the center part of the quilt was a simplified version of Turning Twenty using only nine fat quarters to make a nine-patch, then borders were added. The quilt was machine-pieced and machine-quilted by Nancy E. Miller. |
