Stella Pearl married Lewis M. Bishop in Algona the county seat of Kossuth County, Iowa. Lewis was born in Virginia on 18 Sep 1891. Lewis was a widower with a 3 year old child, Clifford Jacob. Prior to their marriage, Stella lived at home and was a public school teacher.

Stella was born in Ramsey Township in Kossuth County on 27 Oct 1889. They had 3 children all born in Swea City, Iowa: Ellen Pearl born 13 Dec 1921 and died 12 Apr 1925, Betty Lou on 9 Nov 1924, and Sidney Richard on 8 Jul 1926.

At some point in time they moved to Missouri where she died on 27 Feb 1971 in Nevada, Missouri. He died 5 years later ( Dec 1976 ) in Walker, Missouri. Both towns are in Vernon County and about 60 miles south of Kansas City. I had the good fortune to meet 89 year old Betty Lou, who still lived in Walker with her second husband, Norman Redde, a widower like herself.
