Clara Augusta married Charles Marks in Cedar County on October 24, 1886. The fact that Charles was born in October of 1857, is not in dispute; what is in dispute is where was he born. In one census record it says, Iowa, but in others it says Ohio. They lived in Iowa in Cedar County until about 1897 when they moved to McCook County in southeast South Dakota, where Charles worked as a farmer and at one time a Real Estate agent. They raised 8 children, with the last 2 being twins: Grace Pearl (b 1887), Balnche Alpha (b 1889), Eunice Mae (b 1891), Wlater David (b 1893), Burnice Ethel (b 1896), Elsie Rosanna (b 1898), Leslie Charles and John Lyle (b 1902). Charles Marks died on December 30, 1925 in Richland Township in McCook County, South Dakota. Some time after 1930, Clara moved to Sioux Falls, where she died on January 8, 1952.
