Amanda Melvina married the widower of her first cousin, Mary Jane McAdams, John McFarlin, on November 16, 1871 in Clinton County, Indiana. They had two children: Millie W (b 1873) and Ella M (b 1875) both born in Clinton County, Indiana. Amanda apparently died in childbirth, giving birth to her second child, on December 17, 1875 in Clinton County, Indiana. Five years later in 1880, the 2 little girls are found living with the grandmother, Sarah McAdams, in Ada in Hardin County, Ohio.
